Some say  "out with the old and in with the new ".  I am certain many people would like to leave the past behind and start a clean slate.  Unfortunately, technology has not caught up to us where we can actually erase those, painful memories, bad debts, remorseful decisions, appalling colleagues... the list can go on...

 What we can do is embrace what we would like to forget and confront it with determination to overcome it.  The beginning of the year is a time that resolutions are made; why not make a resolution for those wishes that are new and those that are old that can be measurable and achievable.  This quick tip may be helpful in getting started.
  1. Create two categories: One for what you want to erase and one for what you want to achieve for 2012.
  2. Be sensible when setting your goals. (For instance, you may not be able to overcome painful memories or excessive debt in one month).
  3. If you can partner with someone who can hold you accountable for the goals you set that would be ideal.  
  4. Stagger your goals in intervals, then schedule dates for visiting your progress. 
  5. Tweak as needed and be prepared to spend more time if you are not meeting your interval checks.
  6. Don’t forget to give yourself accolades for any progress you have made.
  7. Repeat steps 4 -6
If your goals are measurable and achievable you will succeed. If you have determined step 3 is difficult to preserve, have no fear you can always count on us to be your coaching partner.  Have a successful journey accomplishing your goals for 2012.
